UPDATE: An email from rival retailer GAME has since told customers to expect "more intel" on Modern Warfare 3 on May 24th. All signs point to an official reveal next week.
ORIGINAL STORY: A countdown timer that has appeared on Amazon.co.uk has dropped the biggest hint yet that Modern Warfare 3 could be officially unveiled next week.
The countdown, which you can see in the thumbnail to your left or by clicking the link to your right, is displayed below a Modern Warfare 3 banner in the video games department of Amazon’s website. The counter is currently counting down to 9am BST on Tuesday 24th May.
Could this be when gamers finally get to see this year’s Call of Duty in action?
Industry rumours have already suggested that Modern Warfare 3 will be revealed next week.
UK retailers kicked off their pre-order programmes for Modern Warfare 3 this morning following high profile leaks of the game last week.
Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 8th 2011 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Rumours point towards a Wii version being in the works too.
