Konami releases gameplay trailer showcasing Platinum Games’ take on Hideo Kojima’s universe.
That blond fella you played as during Metal Gear Solid 2 has...gone through some changes.
Platinum Games are a unique entity when it comes to games development and we’re really excited to see what form their take on Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear universe will be, but that name. Lordy, lordy, lordy Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has to be one of the dumbest names ever conceived.
Thankfully the preposterously named console-only release seems to boast some interesting new mechanics, which are showcased in a new gameplay trailer shown below:
In the footage you’ll see some dynamic slicing, a few delightful finishers and the return of Metal Gear Solid’s futuristic bi-pedal mechs.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Europe on Friday, February 22nd.
