“Radically different” and new IP scrapped.Sony Liverpool was working on two PlayStation 4 titles before closure

Departed WipEout team was developing two launch titles shortly before shutting its doors yesterday, sources have revealed.

The North West developer was reportedly working on a “dramatically different” WipEout game that had been in the works for well over a year.

The other title was a gangster-style game that supposedly became more of a Splinter Cell-looking project that used motion capture tech akin to that of Team Bondi’s LA Noire.

There’s no word on whether the projects could have been moved to another one of Sony’s first-party teams or if they’ve been binned with the studio’s closure.
