Riptide will not be an ‘Off The Record’ style spin-off says Deep Silver.
Deep Silver has confirmed that the newly announced Dead Island: Riptide will be ‘ a new game’ in the survival horror series.
When the game was announced last week, rumours suggested that the game might be a remake or spin-off to 2011′s Dead Island akin to the Off the Record version of Dead Rising 2.
These rumours were born from the game’s slightly reduced $49.99 price tag – $10 cheaper that typical console releases.
“That’s not a placeholder, that’s the real price,” said Deep Silver’s marketing and PR manager Aubrey Norris.
“It’s the end of a console cycle – we think this price makes a lot more sense given that.“
Deep Silver says we can expect to see more of Dead Island: Riptide later this summer.
