How will the new squad of marines fair? Probably not too well...
In terms of authenticity Aliens: Colonial Marines is shaping up to be something very special with its meticulous attention to every detail of James Cameron’s sequel – case in point the latest trailer dedicated to the game’s story.
Colonial Marines is being billed as a canonical sequel to Aliens, following the story of the doomed set of marines as they seek to liberate and investigate LV-426 after a previous marine team was completely decimated by a deadly xenomorph infestation, but even this new trailer released over the Christmas break poses more questions than it answers.
Hicks is found dead at the beginning of Aliens 3, so he doesn’t return properly in the Colonial Marines, still it’s good to finally see that mission report he was seen recording in the Aliens: Director’s Cut. The rest of the trailer features lots of quick cuts, and perplexed marines wondering exactly what is going on but the shooter sequel still looks like something every fan of Alien series will want to get their hands on.
Aliens: Colonial Marines will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, WiiU and PC on Tuesday, February 12th.
