Somebody is going to get fired over this…
Over the weekend strong rumours emerged regarding a potential Spring 2013 release date for Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V, and it seems today those rumours have been confirmed as the Brighton branch of GAME has tweeted a picture of some rather convincing promotional art carrying the alleged launch window.
The pictures in the tweet, that have since been deleted, are shown below:
Thanks to IGN for giving us the heads-up.
Sometimes these kinds of dummy box-art are produced by the retailer rather than the publisher, but seeing as this covers feature previously unreleased promotional art, we think they are legitimate and have been sent to GAME from Rockstar.
More information about the GTA V will be released next month, so be sure to keep a close eye on the interwebs…
Update: Rockstar has confirmed that yes indeed this artwork is legit and that pre-orders for GTA V will go live in November, with the game scheduled to launch next spring on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. No PC release was mentioned, but it’s typical of Rockstar to release GTA games on the superior platform after all the bugs have been figured out on consoles.
