Return to the Citadel for one final farewell.
BioWare has released the first trailer for the final piece of DLC for Mass Effect 3, titled ‘Citadel’.
Due to launch on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 today, the content features Shepard and crew resting and recuperating before the final push against the Reapers. Inevitably enough things go awry when a mysterious fighting force invades the HQ of the galactic council.
This DLC takes place while Earth is getting ravaged by the Reapers, but that doesn’t stop Anderson giving Shepard to his own pad to relax and perhaps partake in a few romantic ‘sessions’ with his squaddies.
Fan service is the name of this premium priced expansion, 1200 MS Points of $15 dollars, but it represents a good opportunity for players to say goodbye to the characters they’ve come to love over the Mass Effect trilogy and BioWare themselves think it might be quite a teary affair.
“Final Mass Effect trailer handed off… A lot more emotional than I thought,” high-ranking BioWare artist, Chase Boyajian wrote on Twitter. “I recommend playing through the DLC to get to the scene where the last song of the trailer is played. Tear jerker.”
Here’s the trailer.
Mass Effect 3: Citadel will launch today on Xbox 360 and PC, whereas PlayStation 3 users will have to wait until Wednesday to partake in this new content.
