No separate retail release for EA’s European Championship tie-in.
Today EA has confirmed that their tie-in with the next UEFA European Championship will be a paid digital expansion for FIFA 12, not a standalone game as previously thought.
‘UEFA Euro 2012′ will be released on April 25th for £15.99 on PSN, 1800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live and 2500 FIFA Points on PC.
Despite not being a regular retail release each of the event’s nine stadiums will feature, squads for each of the 53 national teams will be accurate and presentation-wise everything will be very comparable to the official tournament held in Ukraine and Poland this summer.
Like with ’2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa’, a name which still sounds silly two years on, this tournament’s tie-in will include a mode dedicated to emulating certain events from the real-life pitch via challenges and there’s also a new Expedition mode which allows players to build, manage and play against others using their own customised team.
