CCP Games PS3-exclusive first-person shooter will soon be open to all.
As if to brighten up an otherwise dull morning, CCP Games has announced that Dust 514 will commence its open beta phase of development on January 22nd. From this date anyone who’s interested in the shooter, which is bizarrely only available on the PlayStation 3, will be able to download the client and take part in the game.
“The launch of the Dust 514 Open Beta is another step towards our long-term vision for CCP and Eve,” said CCP boss Hilmar Veigar Pétursson.
“But this is just the beginning. As we have done with Eve Online, in the coming weeks, and for years to come, we will continually improve upon and add to the Dust 514 experience, as well as add deeper integration between the two games and their communities.”
Interestingly no stats will be reset when the open beta launches, instead everything will remain as is, with new players having to catch up with their more experienced bretheren.
CCP recently migrated Dust 514 to Eve’s Tranquility server, and this latest announcement is just another step for the free-to-play expirament being launched properly.
