Finally a game that isn’t slipping into 2013!
2K Games has today confirmed that XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be released for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on Friday, 12th October in Europe.
The sci-fi strategy game was set for a autumn release earlier this year, but this is the first time we’ve heard of a definitive date.
Incidentally the Fireaxis-developed reboot will also be getting a PC-exclusive special edition which includes an art book, poster, arm-patch, soundtrack, desktop wallpapers and other digital goodies which you shouldn’t really have to pay extra for. Unfortunately there hasn’t been word whether this special edition will make it over to European shores, but we’re sure the good folks at 2K wouldn’t leave us high and dry.
Firaxis Games are known for the Civilization series, but we’re pleased the studio is being allowed to flex their military muscle in a completely different kind of turn-based experience.
Recently a whole slew of releases have slipped unceremoniously into 2013, we’re sure glad this isn’t one of them.
