Additional customisation options, new council missions, and a new squad member on the way.
The hard-as-nails turn-based strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown will receive two new pieces of DLC over the coming months.
The first single player add-on is dubbed the ‘Slingshot Content Pack’ and it’ll include a new set of linked council missions where you’ll fight aliens while they’re still tucked away safely in their ships, and a new ‘Triad’ operative to supplement the game’s existing classes.
This newcomer will have a unique story, dialogue and customisations options, but for the moment Firaxis are being rather coy regarding the finer details.
The second piece of content is the ‘Elite Soldier Pack’ which unlocks additional armour and customisation options for your squad. This is the same piece of content early adopters received for free, but now it’s available for around $4.99.
XCOM has been taking up a lot of our free time as of late, with our first playthrough clocking in at around forty hours and we’re still nowhere near done. Here’s hoping the ‘Slingshot Content Pack’ will be released soon, as we’re starting to get a bit tired of the randomised mission templates.
