Activision spending A LOT of money on the next iteration in the Call of Duty franchise.
Treyarch’s studio head Mark Lamia has revealed that 300 developers are currently hard at work on Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
Mr Lamia revealed the number during an interview with Venture Beat, who also asked him about how the idea for sequel came about and other interesting questions including how different versions of the game will optimised for each platform.
“There’s over 250 people at Treyarch, but there’s over 300 people working on the project. We do have contractors and test teams that aren’t part of the company. Those others aren’t actually employees of Treyarch. But there’s over 300 people working on the game right now,” he revealed.
“But if you think about it, the campaign’s pretty big and ambitious. The multiplayer is pretty big and ambitious. And they really are creating another game with the Zombies there.”
We shudder to think how many hundreds of millions Black Ops 2′s will cost to develop, but in tone alone alone it certainly seems more ambitious than previous games in the series.
