If you’re a successful actor, be sure never to trust anyone you meet on an airplane…
Ah Bodrum, where would we be without your cheap drinks, fine beaches and unnerving capacity to make celebrities open up to perfect strangers on what multi-million dollar productions they’ll be working on next.
Thanks to a rather sneaky games journalist, the world now knows for certain that Modern Warfare 4 is in development at Infinity Ward.
The news came from comments by the voice actor behind Captain Price, Bill Murray (think Eastenders rather than Groundhog Day) who told a fellow passenger, who happened to be a games journalist, that yes indeed he will reprise his role as the gruff British soldier in a future Call of Duty.
“Yeah, on Monday I am off to meet Infinity Ward about the next game, Modern Warfare 4,” revealed Mr Murray to Jason Andrews, who works for This Is Xbox.
“I’m doing work on the sequel to Modern Warfare 3, it carries straight on and I only ever appear in the Modern Warfare games…”
Now aside from this being a massive case of serendipity working her magic for the benefit of gamers worldwide, we have to say we feel a bit sorry for the voice actor who was nice enough to answer a fan’s question with a surprising amount of honesty. No doubt Activision are currently working frantically so this news doesn’t derail anticipation for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, but let’s be honest who didn’t think there would be another Modern Warfare at some point?
If anything all this story proves is that sometimes landing big scoops really is a case of being in the right spot at the right time.
