Kate Middleton actress bags role as gaming’s female icon.
True Blood-star Camilla Luddington has been confirmed as the voice and performance actor for Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft.
English-born Luddington was picked for the role because publisher Square Enix felt she was able to deliver “depth of emotion and the youthful tone needed for Lara Croft in the upcoming reimagining of the Tomb Raider franchise.”
“This has been one of the most important jobs for us to get right,” said Crystal Dynamic’s head Darrell Gallagher.
“This Tomb Raider game is very different to any other and we are demanding far more from the voice and performance acting than ever before as we take the franchise in a new direction.”
As well as starring in HBO’s True Blood, Luddington has also appeared in Californication, CSI, and played royal family member Kate Middleton in a US TV special about 2011′s royal wedding.
Tomb Raider launches March 5th on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
