Major publisher Ubisoft has announced that the highly-anticipated Assassin’s Creed 3 has become the most pre-ordered game in the company’s 26 year history.
“Pre-orders for Assassin’s Creed III at GameStop are 100% higher than last year, putting the game on track to be one of the top titles of 2012,” said Gamestop’s VP of International Merchandising, Marketing & Digital, Michael van den Berg.
The last title in Ubi’s 40 million selling series, Assassin’s Creed Revelations held the previous pre-order record and still maintains a steady place in the UK top 40 almost a year after its release.
Assassin’s Creed 3, which has been in development for three years, has been Ubisoft’s largest production and will launch on four platforms by the end of the year including Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii U.
