Billion-selling mobile hit Angry Birds is finally flinging its way onto HD consoles this year in the form of an Angry Birds Trilogy.
Activision will be publishing Rovio’s console ports as a retail release rather than going the download route and it will include three titles: Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio.
In addition to traditional controls, the Xbox 360 version will support Kinect while the PlayStation 3 version will make use of the PS Move controller.
“You can think of the game as the ultimate collector’s edition,” said Rovio’s executive VP of games Petri Jarvilehto.
“There are new cinematics, extras and other entertaining content. In addition all of the existing material has been uprezzed and re-treated for the high-resolution big screen. The backgrounds have been animated, we’ve added lighting modes, reactive backgrounds, the list goes on and on.”
“We believe that there are a lot of people on the consoles who appreciate a great casual game play experience. This is a game that resonates across a wide audience on many platforms.”
Angry Birds Trilogy will launch on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this holiday.
