2010′s MoH sales to blame says analyst.
Cowen & Company analyst Doug Creutz has reduced his sales forecast for EA’s Medal of Honor: Warfighter due to “apparent gamer disinteresr” following its E3 showing.
Cowen originally projected US sales of Warfighter would sell-through 2.3 million units in Q4 2012 but has since lowered that figure to 1.4 million.
“This is based on a very soft performance since E3 in Amazon’s top-selling game rankings compared to other recent titles,” said Creutz.
“We think the most likely culprit for apparent gamer disinterest is the poor quality of the last Medal of Honor title in 2010.”
This prediction comes after the news that EA plans to include access to Battlefield 4′s multiplayer beta as a pre-order bonus for Warfighter.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter will go head-to-head with blockbuster shooters Halo 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 this holiday with Warfighter going first on October 26th.
