Sudden Strike 3 Arms for Victory review for the PC
World War 2 is a popular setting for real-time strategy games, and Sudden Strike 3: Arms for Victory sticks with the WW2 backdrop, with battle scenarios from all theatres, from Normandy to Iwo Jima. You can play as any of the major combatants, British, Americans, Russians and also the Germans and Japanese in some historically accurate battles. But while the scale is sweeping and the WW2 location is spot-on, Sudden Strike 3: Arms for Victory misses the mark somewhat. Find out what's missing in our full review in this issue of PCGZine. Viva Pinata review for the PC
Viva Pinata was a hit on the Xbox 360 a while back, and it's now available on the PC for a wider audience to get its hands on. At first glance, you'd be forgiven for thinking that it's, y'know, for kids, with it's bright graphics and imaginary world full of living, breathing, sweet-filled pinatas. But play for a while and you'll realise that it's a compelling enough challenge to keep all the family occupied, tending your garden and keeping the wild pinatas you attract happy. Stranger review for the PC
Stranger is a real-time strategy game that has more than a feel of the RPG about it - as well as the fantasy universe of magic and monsters that will have RPG fans feeling right at home, the way you kit out and manage your troops are straight from the RPG format. So does it work, this hybrid of the two genres? Stranger is certainly a different take on both RTS and RPG games, but it falls short in many ways and is confusing to boot. Find out more about this novel approach to the fantasy genre in our Stranger review in this issue of PCGZine. Click here to read the full Stranger review for the PC now! |

Kane and Lynch Dead Men review for the PC
Shooter Kane and Lynch: Dead Men, out now for your gaming pleasure, is a kind of anti-buddy game. Instead of two rough-diamond cops, you've got two hardened criminals, one a definite, bona-fide psychopath, on a crime and killing spree. With a solid plot and decent AI as you build up a squad for your missions, plus a great online adventure to test your co-operative skills on, Kane and Lynch: Dead Men ticks all the boxes for a shooter, but does it have enough to make it stand out and live up to the competition this Christmas? Crysis review for the PC
Much hyped and hotly anticipated, Crysis is with us at last. And it's a spectacular shooter that fulfils all its promises - visually stunning, fast-moving plot, exciting gameplay. You'll have a full range of weaponry and plenty of enemies to use them on, plus you get to wear a super-charged nano suit, and who can resist one of those? But that's not all - as well as the enemies you can see, there's an invisible, malevolent force to watch out for... You'll have your hands full and you'll have to have your wits about you, but Crysis is a fully absorbing game that'll keep you blasting away through the night. Find out why it deserves our PCGZine Gold Award in our full Crysis review now! Click here to read the full Crysis review for the PC now! |
