Mirror's Edge preview PC
Late 2008 will see the release of a new and really quite strikingly different FPS, Mirror's Edge. What will set Mirror's Edge apart is its approach to movement - your character's movements will be much more grounded in reality and you'll need to master them if you are to succeed. Set in an urban landscape, Mirror's Edge will see your character running, jumping, leaping across rooftops and climbing and descending some terrifying verticals (think Assassin's Creed) - it's all exciting and fast-moving stuff. We've had a hands-on look at Mirror's Edge this month - find out what awaits us in our preview now! Click here to read the full Mirror's Edge preview for the PC now! |
Aliens Colonial Marines preview PC
Way up the top of our must-buy list already for this year is Aliens: Colonial Marines, which promises to be both a stellar first-person shooter and an effective and convincing Aliens adaptation. You'll play a Marine in an impressively faithful rendition of the second Aliens film - fans of the films won't be disappointed, and Aliens: Colonial Marines looks set to be an even better Aliens adaptation than the brilliant Alien vs Predator. We've gone hands-on with the game this month and it's fair to say we are more than a little excited by what's in store for us later this year when Aliens: Colonial Marines hits the shelves. Assassins Creed interview PC
With the PC release date for the eagerly-awaited Assassin's Creed getting ever closer (it's out in April, folks, the wait's nearly over), we've been talking to Ubisoft's Charles Beauchemin, the Technical Lead on the PC version, about bringing this console hit to the PC. There are plenty of tweaks and changes afoot, and the PC version of Assassin's Creed will have even more variety with some new investigation types. The developers have paid attention to the (minor) gripes about the console game, and it looks like the PC version will be bigger, better and sneakier still. Find out more about this imminent release in our Assassin's Creed developer interview now! Click here to read the full Assassins Creed interview for the PC now! |

Frontlines: Fuel of War review PC
Frontlines: Fuel of War portrays an almost too-close-for-comfort near future, in which the world's oil reserves are finally running dry and all the major world powers are embroiled in a conflict to gain control of the dwindling supplies. That's the 'fuel' of the war - geddit? You'll take on this apocalyptic vision of the world as one of a band of mercenaries, and you'll have the opportunity to explore it in both single player mode and online multiplayer, giving you two quite different experiences of this thought-provoking (but still fun) game. Check out our Frontlines: Fuel of War review now to find out how we rate it. Click here to read the full Frontlines Fuel of War review for the PC now! |

Turning Point Fall of Liberty review PC
Turning Point: Fall of Liberty takes as its back-story an alternate reality in which Hitler has prevailed in the Second World War, Winston Churchill having died in an accident before the war. With Britain having fallen to the Nazis early on along with the rest of Europe, several years later it's the turn of the USA to be on the receiving end of an invasion, and that's where Turning Point picks up the story, casting you as a NYC construction worker fighting with the resistance to repel the Nazis. It's an intriguing and enthralling premise, but with so many stellar shooters out there can Turning Point: Fall of Liberty live up to its own plot and take on the competition? Find out more in our full review in this issue of PCGZine. Click here to read the full Turning Point Fall of Liberty review for the PC now! |

Damnation preview PC
'A shooter gone vertical', that's how Codemasters have described the forthcoming Damnation, out in late 2008. Set in a post-industrial world, Damnation has a feel of a graphic novel about it and will see your character (and the enemies you face) zipping about the game with incredible feats of acrobatics and very little fear of heights as you scale and drop down great vertical distances. The game is still pretty much under wraps, but we've got all the latest news of Damnation in this issue of PCGZine! Click here to read the full Damnation preview for the PC now! |
