If you like the idea of MMORPGs but have so far fought shy of them because you aren't quite ready to pal up with a bunch of strangers, then Sword of the New World could be for you. Just like a standard MMORPG, you'll have a group of fellows to travel with and fight alongside, but in Sword of the New World, you can create your own group of companions to accompany you through the game. U p until now, MMORPGs have been a strictly multiplayer experience. Sure, you might be able to take down "Rabid Rat Lvl 1" on your own, but if you want to get the sparkliest treasure, or defeat the biggest bosses, you have team up in a group. This caused something of a problem for Billy no-mates, and all your far-right friends, who ended up either offending everyone on WoW, or having no-one to speak to in the first place…

Keeping this in mind, we were somewhat confused when we found that Sword of the New World lets you create your own party of adventurers when you first begin the game. Seemingly going against the whole concept of an MMORPG, this effectively lets you play through the whole game (or at least, gives you a better chance of surviving), by playing on your own.
