Loki review for the PC

An RPG of the old school in many ways, Loki offers gamers a bit of a departure from the traditions of the genre. Promising more freedom within the game, Loki starts off by giving you a mix of ancient mythologies to choose from: your character can come be an ancient Egyptian, Greek, Norseman or Aztec - all with differing skills and traits. So does Loki stand out from the RPG norm, or more of what we're used to? Find out more when you read our Loki review for the PC now!

Loki review for the PC
Certain games and franchises are inescapably synonymous with a particular genre. Think Flight Simulator, Quake or Football Manager. More of a stretch are Oblivion and World of Warcraft. All of these are titles that have withstood the tests of both time and cynical journalists alike. So the gazillions of other games also released at around the same time as these have a real job to get noticed. And they have to be good. Enter Loki…

Unlike Oblivion or WoW, this action RPG uses the 'classic' (or more accurately, 'dated') top-down view, rather than a natty first- or third-person perspective. As a consequence, playing the game often feels more like playing Golden Axe on the Megadrive than an all-new role-player.
