Lost Planet Extreme Condition review for the PC
Let’s just get Lost Planet’s plot out of the way. You play some guy who’s father is killed by a giant bug. You develop amnesia, have to fight to remember who you are, and avenge your father’s death with the help of some two-dimensional buddies. Yes the story really is that bad. All you need to know is this, you’re going to be fighting giant bugs, pirates and armoured mechs on a frozen planet. Cue the explosions…
Lost Planet is a no-holds-barred nobrainer of a shooter. Forget any notions of stealth or tactical manoeuvring that you’ve come to expect from your modern games. Tactics are for wimps. Get your arse in there and blow stuff up. Just don’t expect enemies to offer up much of a challenge outside of the old-school scripted boss fights. AI seems almost none existent. Flying bugs will swoop at you while you cut them to pieces with gunfire, rolling bugs will spin towards you while you blow them to bits with grenades, and pirates will helpfully stand in place for you to snipe their faces off.
