Tomb Raider Anniversary Review - PCIt's hard to believe, but it's been 11 years since Lara Croft first breezed into our lives in the original Tomb Raider. Now, umpteen sequels and spin offs and multiple platforms later, she's back in a nostalgia-fest Tomb Raider Anniversary. A remake of the original Lara outing, Tomb Raider Anniversary sees our heroine revisiting old haunts and fighting old enemies, but with markedly improved graphics and some new moves she's picked up along the way. So will there be enough new material in Tomb Raider Anniversary to make it worth your while? Read our review to find out. ![]() Tomb Raider Anniversary Review - PC As is the modern way, it’s being billed as a ‘re-imagining,’ the term coined by Tim Burton when he did a great big monkey shit on the memory of the already peerless The Planet Of the Apes. Games are a very different beast though, and whereas a 40-yearold film is still perfectly watchable, the early Tomb Raider games are little more than glorified cave paintings, which makes the lascivious response to the pneumatic Lara Croft character all the more baffling now. This time round she does at least look vaguely human, albeit forged from the hormone-fuelled mind of a priapic teenager. Trapped inside her trademark aquamarine top, Lara’s heaving breasts vie for attention like a brace of libertyseeking blancmanges (albeit minus a cherry on top). Her improbably slender legs protrude from tiny shorts, the paucity of which has not been seen since the 1984 FA Cup Final. Facially, it’s like a pick ‘n’ mix at the plastic surgeon’s, with Lara’s huge cow eyes seemingly augmented by Jagger’s lips and Jackson’s nose. The trademark grunting is present and correct, with the pervert’s handbook completed by Lara’s new wet look – after a quick dip she comes out absolutely sopping.
