Theatre of War Review - PC

World War 2 fact-fans will be in heaven with Theatre of War, a real-time strategy game of no less than 40 missions based on WW2 battles. Theatre of War is unbelievably historically accurate, with an unprecedented level of statistical detail and a wealth of authentic weaponry, tanks and other vehicles to keep even the strictest armchair general happy. Armed with all this detail, will Theatre of War prove to be the war strategy game to end all war strategy games? Read our full review to find out.
Click here to read the full Theatre of War review for the PC now! As an RTS from the makers of IL-2 Sturmovik, Theatre of War is as niche a game as you’re likely to find. Taking the same approach to the RTS genre as they took to the flight sim, the team at 1C Company have tasked themselves with producing the most accurate WW2 RTS ever seen. Only problem is, their strategy (pun intended) hasn’t worked quite as well as we’d have hoped. If you’re a fan of statistics and number crunching, Theatre of War is the RTS of your dreams. Every soldier, tank, gun emplacement and vehicle has numerous statistics and properties that affect their every move, giving Theatre of War a level of historical accuracy that other games can only dream about. With five individual campaigns to play through, and a whopping 40 missions in total, each of which is based around a historical battle, from Operation Overlord to the crushing German defeat at Kursk, there’s more than enough to keep your average armchair general happy.
