Starcraft II Preview - PC
Lots and lots of people are going to be very excited about this. This month, we bring you news of Blizzard's long-awaited Starcraft II, which we can reveal will be out on the PC in 2008. Sci-fi RTS Starcraft first blazed onto the PC in 1998, and was later complemented by the expansion pack Brood War. Always a great multi-player game, Starcraft II should develop this further into online gaming, coming as it does from the makers of the mighty MMO World of Warcraft. Starcraft II Exclusive Preview - PC
While much of their time has
been spent feeding the
World of Warcraft monster
over recent years, there’s clearly been
an sci-fi ache nagging the wizardly
beards at Blizzard.
It was with barely contained glee
and a glint that said ‘we’re relishing
every damn minute of this’ that they
announced Starcraft II and vowed to
settle some unfinished business…
Since 1998, Starcraft and it’s
generous expansion pack, Brood War,
have been carving up friendships as
millions of armchair generals waged
war in a game tilted unashamedly
towards multiplayer action.
For those who don’t know, Starcraft
is a far grittier, spacier RTS than it’s
stablemate Warcraft. Here it’s your
command of hundreds of twitching
units that is likely to turn the tide of
battle, not the lumbering destruction
of super-powerful hero units.
It’s a game characterised by the
perfect balance of three warring
factions – the Protoss, Zerg and Terran,
all of whom return once more for this
souped-up sequel.
