The Witcher - Interview with designer Michal Madej
What the hell is a Witcher, anyway?
A witcher is a medieval hitman. They’re trained from childhood to fight monsters and have transformed into mutants. They’re master swordsmen who use powerful magic to enhance their skills with the blade.
They also have a specific knowledge of monsters and alchemy and, thanks to their training, can use potions that would be harmful to humans. They use two swords – one for magical monsters and one for more mundane beasts, such as humans.
The Witcher is the most famous witcher of all time, the legendary Geralt of Rivia.
