Next winter the real-time strategy behemoth that is Command and Conquer will thunder on with the release of Command and Conquer Red Alert 3. With a whole new story arc involving time travel, the Soviets changing history and the rise of a Japanese superpower, there's plenty to get your teeth into here. The game is set to feature new aspects including naval combat, which will bring a whole new side to this RTS favourite. Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 preview for the PC

Driven right back to Moscow by the Allies, the Soviet forces hatch a last-ditch scheme to travel back in time and wipe Albert Einstein off the face of history so that the Allies never benefit from the tech results of his genius and scientific progress. However, they only succeed in generating a powerful new enemy in the Empire of the Rising Sun - the new Japanese superpower.

What do we know?
As well as the first game in the long-running strategy series to introduce a fully-fledged third faction, Red Alert 3 will also add naval combat to the exciting tactical mix. Focusing on amphibious units, it will be easy to transfer units from sea to land, rather than getting stuck at beachhead bottlenecks.
