Damnation preview PC

'A shooter gone vertical', that's how Codemasters have described the forthcoming Damnation, out in late 2008. Set in a post-industrial world, Damnation has a feel of a graphic novel about it and will see your character (and the enemies you face) zipping about the game with incredible feats of acrobatics and very little fear of heights as you scale and drop down great vertical distances. The game is still pretty much under wraps, but we've got all the latest news of Damnation in this issue of PCGZine!

Damnation preview for the PC

Hero Rourke sets off through a post-industrial USA inspired by iconic historical events, to prevent a crazed arms dealer from achieving world domination. It seems he has a mysterious female sidekick to help him in this and the whole setting feels like a steampunk graphic novel, something akin to The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

What do we know?
Codemasters is describing Damnation as a "shooter gone vertical" and there's plenty of evidence in these first screenshots of acrobatic moves through every dimension, with Rourke and his barely-dressed accomplice scaling walls, leaping through windows and flying down ziplines. But you aren't the only ones with almost superhuman daredevil skills. Your enemies will also use ropes, scale walls and generally come at you from every angle, making nowhere safe to hide.
