The Club review PCYou'll be up against both the clock and some brutal and skilled marksmen in new release The Club, which takes as its premise a kind of lethal, fully armed version of Fight Club. Race through a variety of increasingly seedy locations taking out your opponents before they can kill you, and gain points for speed, style and number of kills. The Club is a port from the consoles, an arcade first-person shooter of the kind that works well on other platforms, but is it a hit on the PC? Read our review of The Club to find out more. ![]() The Club review for the PC Remember Fight Club and the rules? The Club is remarkably similar in principle, gathering a group of mental vigilantes to do battle in seedy locations that, if you could smell them, would stink of piss, smoke and rotting flesh. Instead of bloody fist fights, The Club revolves around all-out war, televised for the pleasure of the sick organiser. The characters you can play are all brilliantly realised comic book heroes that range from a giant Russian special forces dropout called Dragov to Renwick, an NYPD cop who wants to break the fighting ring and its hold on the higher echelons of the police force. He's even spending his own money to fund his undercover work in a bid for glory, fame and seeing that those pesky criminals are put behind bars. Renwick's storyline mixes Beverly Hills Cop and Scooby Doo flawlessly and though it's nothing that you wouldn't expect from a Hollywood blockbuster, it's good to see polished characters and plot in a video game.
