Mass Effect preview for the PC

Assume the role of Commander Shephard and embark on a massive adventure to save the galaxy from annihilation in this action-oriented RPG of interplanetary proportions. BioWare's GM Ray Muzyka describes Mass Effect as "A powerful example of video games as art form, delivering new levels of emotional intensity, realistic characters and a gripping storyline – all set in a compelling new universe".

What do we know?
Mass Effect has been substantially redesigned for PC since its late 2007 console release. Controls have been optimised and are also fully customisable, so you'll be able to assign hotkeys to skills and biotic powers you acquire, making the fierce action even more immediate and involving. Along with a vastly improved inventory interface for PC, the game is slicker and easier to manage than before. Graphically it's also superior (and hopefully less buggy), with re-engineered visuals providing even more realistic textures, detailed character animations and stunning environments.
