FPS fans are in for a huge treat in the form of the Orange Box - a collection of some of the definitive first person shooters on the PC. Alongside existing hits Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode one, you get brand new instalment Half-Life 2: Episode 2 and new games Portal and Team Fortress 2. That's surely enough to keep you gun-totingly happy for hours upon hours of gameplay, whether you're a die-hard Half-Lifer already, or new to all the games in the collection. In this issue of PCGZine we've played and reviewed the games that make up the Orange Box - read our review of this massive Gold Award winning collection now and find out why you just shouldn't miss it.

Orange Box review for the PC
There's no point arguing about whether you think the Half-Life series is the ultimate PC FPS. Looking at the figures, such as hours played by humans, number of copies purchased or simply the sheer amount of influence Half-Life wields on all game developers, it's clear that Half-Life simply means business. It's the bulletridden benchmark that all wannabes are tested against. Now, just in time for Christmas, Developer Valve has come along with a package so vast it threatens to break the internet via Valve's revolutionary Steam network which provides the game download.

Black Box Fight Recorder
As an overview, you get the following: Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Portal, Team Fortress 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode Two. If you're a Half-Life convert, you can buy the Black Box instead, which simply comes with all the new games you won't have seen before (Episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2) which are covered below. If you own a PC and haven't already played Half-Life 2, let's simply say that you should, as soon as possible for fear of being laughed at by strangers in the street. If you own a PC and only own one game, it should be Half-Life 2 – it still looks next-gen, plays like a dream and will last for months.
