PC gamers have been waiting with mounting excitement, and Gears is nearly here - it hits the shelves this November. Even if you've played it through on the 360, there's still plenty to get excited about, as the PC version comes with brand new, exclusive extra gameplay - a whole new chapter no less, with brand new enemies to defeat. Find out all you need to know about Gears of War for the PC in our massive hands-on preview now! ![]() Gears of War preview for the PC It may have been the PC's worse kept secret for a while, turning up in such bizarre places as driver profiles, and point-of-sale displays, but a couple of months ago Microsoft made the news official : Gears of War, the 4 million+ selling Xbox 360 title would be making its way to its spiritual home, the PC, with extra content to boot. We got to go hands on with the exclusive new content and the awesome multiplayer mode at a recent Microsoft event in London's Covent Garden. As you may expect being a first party Microsoft game, Gears of War is playable with either the mouse and keyboard, or an Xbox 360 controller, but at first, it actually felt easier playing with the 360 pad. Using the mouse and keyboard, Gears of War's contextsensitive run-for-cover button was actually mapped to the right mouse button, which, although quickly remapped to the more logical space bar, provided some initial confusion.
