There are two main reasons: the first is that it's the new Quake title. That alone guarantees a significant chunk of column inches. It's actually the prequel to Quake 2's Strogg bashing, set in 2065. The second is that it's a follow-up to the criminallyunderrated Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory by Splash Damage that was canned as a commercial add-on in 2003 and released as a standalone game for diddly-squat. For this title to deliver, it needs to maintain the elements of W: ET that still make it a popular online pastime despite an aging engine.
