Hear What Will Wright Thinks About The New SimCity

Mr Wright knows a good game when he sees one, he's made enough of them himself after all.

The new SimCity is subtly different from the city building franchise’s early beginnings, but that doesn’t mean the father of the series doesn’t dig it. EA has released video of a lengthy and rather high level design discussion between William Ralph Wright and the creative director of 2013′s SimCity reboot, Ocean Quigley and frankly the 11 minute footage is fascinating.

Hearing what Wright has to say about the series new accessible direction and transition from “spreadsheet management” to deciding the destiny of people is genuinely insightful and at times really touching – it’s easy to see that Will still has a lot of respect for the people who work at the company which he co-founded in 1987 with Jeff Braun.
