Want to see the best the ShootMania players the world has to offer? Nadeo will soon have your back.
The head of Nadeo Live, Anne Blondel-Jouin, has confirmed to GamerZines that Video on Demand functionality will be heading to ShootMania in the near future.
Within ShootMania players can already wager the service’s Planets currency on who will win future e-sports matches, but soon players will be able to watch the events themselves within the existing client.
“We already enable live-streaming, what we are looking at is enabling VOD (Video on Demand), where people can reload the game, comment on it, put it on their channel and everything else,” explained Nadeo Live’s managing director.
“I’m not saying it’ll be available for launch, but we’re definitely working on that sort of functionality, as we know it’s a great feature for spectators.”
Nadeo has been actively courting the e-sport masses with ShootMania, in order to make sure professional teams and tournament holders alike have all the tools necessary to make the competitive shooter a success. Allowing regular players to watch the very best battling it out online without having to head to YouTube or TwitchTV, is just another step in that evolution.
It’s a shame this functionality won’t arrive on ManiaPlanet until after ShootMania’s launch, but it’s good to hear that Nadeo are actively working on Video on Demand functionality.
