Valve puts out a call to fans to fill the Steam Workshop with “horrifying” cosmetic items.
Halloween is a big deal in the Team Fortress 2 community. Since the multiplayer shooter was released Valve has treated fans to a host of in-game events including the arrival of a headless horseman, giant rampaging eye balls, new maps, game-modes and goodies, but this year the team behind the game are doing something a bit different…
This time they’ve put out a call, via the Team Fortress 2 blog, for players to create their own Halloween-centric items via the Steam Workshop, with the most popular creations being incorporated into the next big update.
“Scariness doesn’t just happen, people. It’s serious business. That’s why we’re giving you until October 1st to fill the Steam Workshop with horrifying Halloween-themed cosmetic items. If you’re not an item-making sort of person, you can still keep busy. Why not visit the workshop and rate other people’s Halloween-themed items? Rating terrifying items will also help you build up your resistance to being scared before we unleash this year’s Scream Fortress update,” stated the latest post on the official TF2 blog.
Knowing Valve, this year’s Team Fortress 2 Halloween event will be something very special and we’ll keep you posted regarding what it’s set to be all about.
