Weapons now unlock much quicker with new variants to discover.
Hi-Rez Studios has released a new trailer detailing the fifth major update for their free-to-play shooter Tribes: Ascend.
Titled ‘Accelerate’ the new content pack adds 27 new weapon variants which riff on established archetypes, two new Capture and Hold maps, lots of competitive balance changes in accordance with player feedback and most notably faster weapon unlocks.
When the update goes live every time you use a weapon you’ll contribute to a more extravagant variant of that hardware unlocking, regardless of how well you do with it.
Accelerate is scheduled to go live later this month, but you can get a taste of it by checking out the video below:
