ShootMania: Storm also given final release date.
Nadeo has been very busy today. Not only have they confirmed that a Stadium expansion will be released for TrackMania 2 next year for free, but also that ShootMania will be released properly on January 23rd.
Players can enrol in the ongoing ShootMania: Storm Beta simply by pre-ordering the game from Nadeo, but still this is big news as it hints that Nadeo will have the competitive shooter’s new traversal system implemented by that time; allowing players to wall jump and hook onto higher surfaces.
On the other side of the growing ManiaPlanet framework, it’s also confirmed that both TrackMania 2: Valley and Stadium will be released for the online portal next year. Valley will focus more on rally racing, set in a natural environment with trees and the like, whereas Stadium focuses on the kind of loop-de-loop open-wheeled crazyness players may remember from TrackMania: Nations. Like Nations, the Stadium expansion will be free whereas Valley will be available for a currently undisclosed fee.
Nadeo has quietly implemented big changes to ShootMania: Storm over the past few months, but with these new TrackMania 2 announcements it’s good to know that the French developer hasn’t forgotten about the series which made them such a PC favourite in the first place. Enough of that stuffy nostalgia though, if you want to get a better idea of what Nadeo’s take on the competitive FPS is all about check out the trailer below…
