Blizzard release the opening cinematic early, and it’s as beautiful and as terrifying as we’d hoped.
Whenever Blizzard’s name gets tossed around, it’s almost impossible not to mention their fantastic work with cinematic cutscenes. Most developers use their own engine to put together cutscenes, but Blizzard still stick to the traditional high rendered FMV approach and even in 2013 their efforts still look astounding.
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty had some great cutscenes, as did Diablo III, and it seems the future expansion Heart of the Swarm will too, as Blizzard has released a new video showing off the release’s intro cinematic for the first time, catch it below -
The Zerg are the starring force of this expansion with the insect race boasting their own story driven campaign in which Kerrigan stars.
StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm will be released Tuesday, 12th March worldwide. Players will need to own Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty in order to play this expansion.
