“They had to start making it” claims Raimi.
Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi has confirmed he is no longer directing the World of Warcraft movie, a silver screen adaptation of the phenomenally popular MMO RPG.
The famed film maker known for his work on the Evil Dead series stated that Blizzard and Legendary Pictures had moved on to another director when Raimi announced plans to work on the Wizard of Oz spin-off, Oz: The Great and Powerful.
“Actually, they don’t have me directing World of Warcraft anymore because when I took the Oz job, they had to move on to another director. They had to start making it,” said Raimi when quizzed at Comic-Con last weekend.
Raimi suggests the film is in fact in production stating “they had to start making it” but a new director has yet to be confirmed.
Blizzard and Legendary Pictures’s World of Warcraft movie currently has the producer of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy attached to it.
