Despite comments suggest the game would be multiplayer only, EA has confirmed that will feature a single-player experience.

EA president of labels Frank Gibeau confirmed that the free-to-play game would feature a single-player mode and would also be dropping “Generals 2″ from its name.

The game will now simply be titled ‘’.

“That’s [single-player] something we’ve obviously heard loud and clear that is important to people,” said Gibeau.

“The beauty of free-to-play, is that we can adjust and adapt to what we’re hearing as opposed to, ‘I’m sorry, it’s two months from ship and it is what it is.’ It’s a very different model because you don’t have to build as much. You build in response to your audience.”

Gibeau also hinted at the possibility of Command & Conquer heading to consoles stating the game could be released on consoles if it makes sense for EA to do so.

“If at some point in the future it makes sense to come over to Xbox Live because the platform allows us to enable it there, or PSN we’ll definitely do it.”

Command & Conquer is due out on PC sometime next year.
