Scroll speed is the single most important factor in any RTS battle. Everything from resource management, scouting and formation movement is impacted by how quickly you can move your cursor from one side of the screen to the other. It's so important in fact that many gamers will have lost the occasional competitive match solely due to pace at which they navigate the map.

We've seen plenty of other titles try and have a stab at a feature like this, but we've never seen it executed so well before. The pace of the zoom has been deliberately staggered by us to give you an impression of how the units scale, in the beta you can zoom in and out smoothly.

At the furthest extremity any units close together will be stacked, much like poker chips, and everything is organised with regards to power, so artillery will be at the bottom, tanks in the centre and finally troops at the top.
When you zoom in closer the units will lose their icon status and resemble their physical form once more. The system works flawlessly and even though sometimes you'll be watching giant units battle it out with each other, you can always zoom in to view a realistically proportioned battle. In your periphery you'll even notice the war room working diligently away.
Eugene Systems are constantly adding new units, maps, modes and factions to RUSE. It's one of the few betas where you really get a sense that your feedback is making a meaningful impact on the games development.
R.U.S.E is still in its beta stage so all aspects of the current game state are viable to change before the final version is released next year.
