Are you an RTS fan? Then you should probably take a deep breath before reading on.

Command & Conquer 4 producer Raj Joshi has said that he thinks "some (RTS players) have very little balance in their life", and that dominating another person in a videogame is their world.

Speaking in the latest issue of UK video game mag EDGE, on the subject of C&C4's new direction Joshi commented:

"RTS players are great people but some of them have very little balance in their life. So their enjoyment is entirely derived from smashing another human in a videogame."

But, rather thoughtfully, Raj wants to help those players get some balance back into their life.

"Now the gameplay is no longer tailored to beating the opponent's base and having that be the source of victory. It's now about capturing objectives. So there's less of that head-to-head 'I'm going to crush you' mentality going on."

We'd like to think our lives are fairly balanced, Raj, but we do still enjoy crushing our rivals to a pulp from time to time.

Command & Conquer 4 launches on PC in March 2010.
