Epic Games have confirmed they won't have any of their own developed titles coming out this year, ruling out a return for Gears of War and Unreal Tournament.
"We don't have any games coming out in 2010," revealed Mark Rein to G4TV. "So from a games standpoint, it's more about our customers' games, right? Already this year we've seen some pretty great games this year - Mass Effect 2, BioShock 2? and Arkham Asylum coming out in 3D, the GOTY game of the year version, so that'll be kinda cool."
Even though Epic Games won't be promoting any of their own titles, it's interesting that the vice president of the company took the opportunity to praise other games utilising the Unreal 3 technology. After all their engine is one of the best the industry has to offer for any platform including 360, PS3, PC and even the iPhone.
This news will disappoint some fans, however that doesn't mean Epic Games won't have a huge presence at E3, especially if recent comments from the company's president Mike Capps are anything to go by.
It's a safe bet to pencil in at least one massive Epic Games product in 2011 and we wouldn't bet against the return of Marcus Fenix and Dom.
