Who needs Assassin's Creed 2? PC gamers may be missing out on one of the biggest titles of the year, but that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of titles out there worth your time. We take a look at some of today's more noteworthy releases:
Gratuitous Space Battles
The final title in today's line-up, but by no means the least. A brainchild of former Lionhead coder Cliff Harris, this game represents a new approach to strategy genre. There's more than a healthy amount of aesthetically pleasing laser effects and explosions, but underneath it's a mix of tower defence and real time strategy gameplay. The visuals are ridiculously over the top for a 2D space battler, but the experience remains fun throughout.
Elven Legacy: Siege

The Elven Legacy series is a fantastic fantasy RTS which is aimed more at new players to the genre. The Siege expansion features nineteen new missions, two different armies and three new heroes for fans to tinker with. Perhaps most accurately described as a sleeper hit, this is definitely worth a dabble for any fans of the fantasy genre.
The Sims 3: World Adventures
This is EA's first expansion to the worldwide pandemic known only as Sims 3. These titles always sell in monumental numbers and even though it would be very easy to dismiss this title as casual fodder, there's actually some interesting gameplay here. For the first time fans will be able to take their creations to foreign countries and landmarks, instead of just vacation lots as seen in The Sims 2: Bon Voyage. New skills are also included such as photography, wine making and martial arts. We won't be playing it, but there will be thousands of you out there who will.
Left 4 Dead 2
What more can be said about Valve's biggest release of the year, apart from that is absolutely awesome! Bigger, better and much more satisfying than the original, this is a title you need to get your hands on and fast. We'll be playing most of the weekend with our Steam group buddies, so feel free to join us.
