Most digital distributors are celebrating their success at the moment by selling games for half price or having daily offers to tempt you into cashing in your holiday spirit. Not Good Old Games though, they are going straight for the jugular and offering two games for absolutely free.

All registered users can pick up a bundle which includes the original Tex Murphy and its sequel for absolutely free. If you've never heard of one of gaming's oldest detectives, it was released in 1991 to huge critical acclaim. There's nothing like delving into two true classics and best of all they are free.

Despite featuring a plot inspired by film noire, the action is set in San Francisco during 2033 and you play Tex Murphy, a private investigator who doesn't play by society's rules. Soon he's embroiled in a plot involving dead scientists and an escalating conspiracy.

In the sequel the luckless Murphy eventually has to get his ass to Mars, in order to solve another complicated crime. References to Total Recall aside, both titles are fantastic examples of bygone genre and completely worth your time this cold winter morning.

Follow the link on the right to get a lovely Christmas present early. Thanks GOG.com and Aaron Conners' WordPlay LLC, both cards are in the post.
