In an exclusive interview with PCGZine, Sebastien Puel, producer of Assassin's Creed 2, has discussed a new economy system which will feature in the sequel.

A brand new component to the Ubisoft franchise, currency will be awarded to players for assassinations, completing objectives, looting soldiers and finding treasure. Mr Peul said "...adding currency in the game gives a motivating reward/collectible system" So collection won't be based purely on flags this time around. Rather than just adding extra content, Sebastian went on to say that money "gives the player a means to buy people and tools that will, in the end, affect the way missions unfold."

Which not only offers gamers new choices when dispatching key targets, but will also change the way story missions pan out.

Sebastien also revealed to us, that it was his favourite new feature and believes it will undoubtedly change the way we will play the sequel. Assassin's Creed 2 seems as ambitious as the original and much more diverse. If Ubisoft Montreal can give gamers more variety, it should be a big hit when it's released in November.
