Everyone had an inkling that Visceral Studios were working on a sequel to the excellent Dead Space, but finally EA has officially announced that Mr Isaac Clarke is back and ready for business on 360, PS3 and PC!
"We're thrilled to jump back into the series, making the next chapter in Isaac's journey," explained the Executive Producer of Dead Space 2, Steve Papoutsis. "The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. There are still loads of Necromorphs that need killing."
Our memories are hazy, but the threat of the Necromorphs spreading throughout space seems like a giant jump in scale compared to the original. Surely the tortured Isaac has gone through enough and EA should do the honourable thing and make the sequel a bit nicer to the solitary lad? Perhaps not.

Sorry, Isaac. Looks like you're out of luck again, but at least we've finally got the sequel which gamers the world over were crying out for. Who knows what leaps in dismemberment technology the next game will feature, but as long as Visceral maintain the oppressive atmosphere and jumpy scares we'll love every minute of it.
No news was given on when we can expect any kind of artwork, screens or even a logo, but we doubt we'll hear anything any time soon. Dead Space is definitely big enough for a huge E3 reveal, but we might hear more about it sooner than you'd think. After all, the Spike Video Game awards are only five days away.
Fingers crossed...
