It was widely believed that the missions in EA's upcoming first-person shooter, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 would be set in the modern day, but new information has now come to light suggesting that the game may actually be set during World War II.
The first game in the series focused on a fictional war between the United States and the Russian Federation, and early previews have suggested things haven't changed for the sequel.

The ESRB has written the following information on its website, summarising the game:
"In single-player mode, players conduct missions on an unnamed Japanese island during World War II and then move into the modern day through jungles, deserts, and snowy terrain."
We're not entirely convinced. Gamerzines has contacted EA for a response.
