To conclude the week-long ‘Uber Update’ Valve has announced that Team Fortress 2 has gone free-to-play.
This move comes four years after the multiplayer-centric team-based shooter was launched, with all revenue now being earned via the Mann Co. in-game store, which allows gamers to purchase new weapons, hats and content packs for real currency.
However every single item in the store can be unlocked simply by playing the game for long periods of time.
In addition there’s also a bot-based skirmish mode and special training maps to ease newbies into the game.
There’s never been a better time to sample this excellent multiplayer experience, so stop what you’re doing and go play it now!
